The town of Moore in Oklahoma suffered tremendous damage in the biggest, most destructive tornado in state history. Schools, homes, businesses and many, more buildings were leveled. 24 people have been confirmed dead but the casualties are expected to rise in the next few days.
On Saturday, Canada's national junior hockey tournament in Saskatoon featured one of the worst National Anthem attempts EVER. Some girl named Alexis Normand sang the Canadian AND American anthems. She obviously wasn't too familiar with the American one, because she forgot half the lyrics, started and stopped a couple times, sang one part TWICE, and generally embarrassed herself for a minute and a half.
Dick Trickle's 911 call from the cemetery where he killed himself is now online. Last week we heard he drove himself to a cemetery in North Carolina, and called 911 to let them know where to find his body. And it sounds like that's just what happened. He told the operator exactly where he was in the cemetery, and told her he was about to kill himself. She begged him to stay on the line, but he hung up. Cops found him right in that spot, dead of a gunshot wound to the head.
Everyone loves to watch families reunite when a soldier returns from duty. It's even better when it's a surprise. According to the Tampa Bay Times, 9 year-old Alayna Adams was chosen to throw out the first pitch at the Tampa Bay Rays game. Her father, a lieutenant colonel stationed in Afghanistan, appeared on the jumbo tron to wish her good luck and tell her he'd see her soon. But when Alayna pitched it in to home plate, the catcher was her dad, Lt. Col. Will Adams. What a great story and an even better moment caught on tape.
A deer crashed through the windshield of a bus in Pennsylvania and the whole ordeal was caught by the bus's surveillance camera. The deer immediately got up and tried to jump back THROUGH the windshield, but couldn't. So it stumbled around until the driver managed to stop and open the door. Then it ran off and seemed uninjured, which is crazy when you see how hard it got hit.

Imagine riding a flight from LA to New York while a woman sings Whitney Houston, over and over. The flight attendants asked the woman to stop, but she kept going. So the pilot ended up DIVERTING the flight and making an emergency landing in Kansas City where the woman was arrested. I love Whitney, but if you aren't Whitney, don't sing her music.

We all appreciate the efforts of law enforcement in keeping us safe and responding to emergencies but there are times when even a police officer has to be called to account. Such was the case in Las Vegas when a 12-year old boy noticed a cop had parked his motorcycle on the sidewalk in a non-emergency situation. Check out the kid and the officers response.
Boston continues to remember those affected by the Boston Marathon bombings. Jeff Bauman survived the attack but lost both his legs in the blast. He was the honorary flag banner captain at the Boston Bruins game. Bauman may lost both his legs, but he didn't lose his spirit. Watch him lead the crowd, by waving the flag as the audience passed around a giant Bruins flag of their own.
