November 24, 2011 We all have childhood memories of holidays, and I have vivid recollections about Thanksgiving Day. The "Frog Days of Fall" are gradually blending into the Christmas season, once Thanksgiving has passed. So, while we are still in the Thanksgiving mode, here are some of my childhood Thanksgiving memories.
November 24, 2011 A new Muppets movie, "The Muppets", headlines a trio of family friendly films opening at local theaters this Thanksgiving weekend. Also opening today is the animated holiday feature "Arthur Christmas" and "Hugo", a family friendly drama about a young orphan boy living in a Paris train station. November 23, 2011 There are all kinds of Thanksgiving traditions some of the most popular being football, family dinners and--to start off the day--the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade. The first annual Macy's turkey day parade started back in 1924 and it is tied with Detroit for second place behind Philadelphia as the longest running Thanksgiving Day parade in the United States. November 17, 2011 If you decide to visit New York City during the "Frog Days of Fall", one must-see stop is the huge Christmas Tree that they put up in Rockefeller Center every year. This year's tree is a Norway Spruce that came from Mifflintown, Pennsylvania, and is 75 feet tall (I doubt that we have ceilings high enough for that one in the McShea household).
