The New York Giants won despite blowing a big lead, and the Atlanta Falcons remained undefeated. Here's a recap of all of Sunday's action:
There are only two blemishes on what has been a fairly impressive defense of last year's Super Bowl title. The Giants look to right one of their wrongs on Sunday, traveling to Dallas in hopes of avenging an Opening Night loss at home to the Cowboys.
Another big weekend of area college football action as the 1-3 Hamilton College Continentals host Williams College (2-3) this Saturday during their Family Weekend. Game time is 1:00 p.m. at Steuben Field on the Clinton campus.
Doug Martin caught one touchdown and ran for another score as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers beat the Minnesota Vikings, 36-17, in Minneapolis on Thursday night.
With the NFL approaching the halfway point of the 2012 season, division races are beginning to take shape, as teams anticipate the second half of their schedule. Here's a preview of this week's action:
Stadium negations continue between the Buffalo Bills and various government agencies in Western New York. Will the team renew a lease for Ralph Wilson Stadium with Erie County or could a long rumored new stadium be in the works?
One of my all-time favorite NFL quarterbacks is Doug Flutie. Even at a height of 5'10", Flutie could throw the long one, rush for that first down and score touchdowns. I saw him play in person a few times when he was quarterback for the Bufffalo Bills. Flutie will always be remembered for that incredible "Hail Mary Pass" as QB for Boston College in a win against the Miami Hurricanes. Currently, you can see Doug Flutie as a college football TV analyst for NBC Sports. And, I own a few boxes of "Flutie Flakes" breakfast cereal, of which proceeds went to the Doug Flutie, Jr. Foundation For Autism.
Brian Urlacher and D.J. Moore each collected turnovers to stifle potential second-half touchdown drives, and the Chicago Bears beat the Detroit Lions, 13-7, in Chicago on Monday night.
Week 7 of the NFL season saw another injury to a big name running back and could have an effect on your fantasy team.
Eli Manning shook off a pair of second half interceptions to lead the Giants to another fourth-quarter, game winning drive, hooking up with Victor Cruz for 77-yards as the New York Giants rallied past the Washington Redskins 27-23 on Sunday at MetLife Stadium.
Frank Gore ran for 131 yards and Alex Smith threw a 12-yard touchdown pass to Delanie Walker to secure the win, as the San Francisco 49ers beat the Seattle Seahawks, 13-6, at Candlestick Park on Thursday.
