“Honey Boo Boo” Family Pulling In Big Bucks

Although it might sound like pocket change to the Kardashians the "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo" family of Alana Thompson is making her signature line "A dollar make me holler" sound like a loud roar. The Huffington Post reports that Alana and family are bringing in $2,000 to $4,000 per episode meaning between $20,000 to $40,000 for the 10-episode season. A nice raise could be in the offing if the show is picked up for a second season. However in the world of reality TV, "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo" is a relative bargain. Chobani CEO America’s Newest Billionaire

While Wal-Mart recently dropped its layaway fee from $15 to $5 MoneyTalksNews.com reports that Sears and K-Mart have completely dropped theirs meaning no interest or service fees to factor into buying decisions. Popcorn Prices on the Rise

Bad news for movie goers. No, there isn't a new Pauly Shore movie coming out, worse. According to Reuters the cost of popcorn will be going up due to the drought conditions blanketing the midwest. "This is the worst season we've ever had," said third-generation popcorn purveyor Mark Shew, who runs the family's farm in Vigo County, Illinois. The report points out that it's not just movie theater popcorn that will see the increase.

Oprah The Highest Paid Celebrity

Word has it that Oprah Winfrey's "OWN" is having problems but her bank account apparently hasn't noticed. According to Forbes magazine Oprah is the highest paid celebrity for the fourth consecutive year bringing in $165 million between May 2011 and May 2012. Kid’s Allowance’s Average $65 A Month

Some kids have a list of chores to earn an allowance, some lucky ones (?) don't. As I recall, an allowance was not a part of our family's budget but my paper route usually got me by. A new survey reported by the American Institute of CPA's found that the average child is the United States get a $65 per month--or $780 per year--allowance.  Allowances usually come with responsibilities, 89% of parents expect certain chores to be completed.
