Lady Antebellum celebrated Christmas this morning (Dec. 25) with all of their fans, courtesy of a pre-taped performance of 'Have a Holly Jolly Christmas' from their holiday record 'On This Winter's Night,' which aired on the annual Disney Parks Christmas parade on ABC.
Have you ever wondered how Rudolph got his red nose? Well, Dutch scientists have finally explained the mystery. Turns out, the reindeer's shiny nose is the direct result of "hyperemia of the nasal mucosa." Way to take all the magic out of Christmas, science.
A lot has changed since 1991, some 21 years ago. Back then we were "Jumpin' Country 96 Frog", still finding its way into Central New York's listening habits and "Christmas In the Mohawk Valley" had just been released to overwhelmingly popular support. Written and performed by local musician Mark Werchowski and a "few good friends" it struck a chord, a chord that still resonates to this day. Check out this video put together last year as a 20th anniversary remembrance.
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas for Lee Brice. The 'Hard to Love' hitmaker reveals that he wants to record a Christmas album, but with a twist -- instead of yet another in the endless parade of half-baked 'White Christmas' renditions already out there, the singer-songwriter would like to make a holiday album that includes a lot of new material.
Wow. Just when you think it's impossible to bring any kind of new life to an age-old Christmas classic, Jennifer Nettles and John Legend go and prove you wrong. The pair teamed up for an absolutely stellar version of 'O Holy Night' on Thursday night's 'CMA Country Christmas' special, proving that a great song and strong singers still win out over all the marketing in the world.
New York City during the Christmas season has quite a feel of holiday excitement. From the huge Christmas Tree at Rockefeller Center and skaters to the incredible storefront decorations, it's truly unique. And, of course it's even more dramatic at night.
Before Keith Urban took the stage to perform a unique version of 'Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas' on ABC's Dec. 20 broadcast of 'CMA Country Christmas,' he spoke a little bit about what Christmas is like in the female-dominated Urban-Kidman household.
It's been 18 years between Christmas albums for Sammy Kershaw, but the singer says despite personal and professional ups and downs, the meaning of the holiday hasn't changed one bit. On 'A Sammy Klaus Christmas' he says he was looking to simplify -- to create a collection of songs that kids could enjoy in the way he enjoyed the holidays during his childhood.
And now for something completely different. A few years ago, singer-songwriter legend Bob Dylan recorded his first Christmas album entitled "Christmas In The Heart" under the name of Jack Frost. All Dylan's royalties on the album were donated to charities. I was so amazed to hear about this that I bought the CD. One of the original songs on the album of holiday favorites is a Polka called "Must Be Santa".
