Martin Truex Jr. placed second with Paul Menard third. The race on the slick, repaved Kansas Speedway surface was a wild one.

October 11, 2012 We hear a lot of talk these days about concussions in football but now that medical condition has affected NASCAR. According to Hendrick Motorsports Dale Earnhardt Junior will miss the next two races in the Chase For the Cup Series because of a concussion he suffered during last Sunday's 25-car pileup at Talladega. This isn't Junior's first brush with a concussion.
October 8, 2012 If you travel on the New York State Thruway, there's a basic rule: you have to pay the toll. Many of us have E-ZPass, while others pay cash. I remember years ago as a college student running out of money on my way home and asking the toll booth operator if I could "charge" the toll. That didn't go over very well, but he let me do it. Apparently, there are a number of travelers who haven't paid their tolls.

The win was his second of the NASCAR Chase and put him in the points lead heading into the fourth race of the series at Talladega. What was his strategy?
September 29, 2012 If you're traveling on the New York State Thruway this weekend to to watch that Utica College Pioneers football game at Ithaca College, you'll still pay the same toll. But, there's talk about possible toll increases on the Thruway. The Thruway needs to maintain the roadway, but higher tolls mean higher costs for consumers, business travelers, and those trucking goods (and you know what that means on prices of the goods they're hauling).

Denny Hamlin took the checkered flag for the fifth time this season winning NASCAR's Sylvania 300 at the Loudon, New Hampshire track Sunday. It was the third race in the Chase for the Sprint Cup series and although Hamlin crossed the finish line first Jimmie Johnson took over the overall points lead by virtue of his second place finish. Hamlin survived a major scare about two-thirds of the way through the race.

Although talking on your cell phone while driving is illegal many people still engage in this dangerous practice. Yesterday at Whitesboro High School and at VVS a victim of inattention due to cell phone use while driving, Jacy Good of Pennsylvania, spoke to students of the dangers first hand. According to WKTV Jacy and her parents were the victims of a cell phone distracted driver with devastating results.
September 16, 2012 Brad Keselowski picked up his fourth win of the season and took over the points lead with a thrilling win in the Geico 400, the first race of NASCAR's Chase for the Sprint Cup at Chicagoland Speedway . According to AP Keselowskii got ahead of Jimmie Johnson with about 35 laps remaining and led the final 26 laps in the 400-mile race. Johnson finished second with Kasey Kahne third. It was a rough start for Jeff Gordon.
