Casting My Vote On Saranac Wet IPA
A while back, I mentioned the introduction of Saranac Wet IPA by my friends at the F.X. Matt Brewery in Utica. Over the weekend, I had an opportunity to sample the new brew, and I’m ready to cast my vote.

The uniqueness of this beer is that the hops were hand-picked locally by brewery staff and friends, then used in brewing within 48 hours for extra freshness. Thus, the hops are “wet” and haven’t had a chance to dry.
So what do I think about the brew?
Saranac Wet IPA has a straw color, nice creamy head, pronounced hop aroma, and is stronger than some beers…over seven percent alcohol by volume. This is one beer to sip when you want to sit in your own family room watching football. If you like a hoppy brew….this one will make you very hoppy, and then some! Even though the hops are abundant in flavor, it’s still quite smooth.
If you like your hops right up front in the glass, you’ll love this one. I vote Yes on Saranac Wet IPA.
I’m Greg “Slashin’” McShea, and I approve this message.
