Carrie Underwood is well aware that the upcoming NBC broadcast 'The Sound of Music Live!' is unexpected, since live musical TV is beyond rare these days. In a new 30-second clip from rehearsals, the star, who will play Maria, gushes about her co-stars, saying the talent is "off the charts."

"Nobody does stuff like this, for one night," Underwood shares, while we hear a sample of the country superstar singing 'My Favorite Things.' It's just a snippet, but you will find yourself thinking, "Wow!"

Underwood is truly a powerhouse vocalist -- something country music fans have known for quite some time. Her range is demonstrated in this short, but sweet clip.

"The talent is off the charts," she relates about her fellow actors and actresses, as we witness more clips from the rehearsals, like the faction of nuns singing and Carrie-as-Maria jumping up and down on a bed with the von Trapp children. We also witness her in tune with Stephen Moyer, who plays Captain von Trapp.

"These people are amazing … it feels so good," Underwood concludes. "We're doing it live, in front of the entire universe!"

The people of the universe should be sure and tune in on Dec. 5 at 8PM on their local NBC affiliate. We're predicting an Emmy nomination in Underwood's future, at the very least.
