Canadarago Lake Named Major Inland Lake

If you have ever taken a drive down Route 28 between Route 20 and Cooperstown you have no doubt noticed beautiful Canadarago Lake. It is, according the the state DEC “one of the cleanest and clearest lakes in the state”. It provides recreational activities such as boating, fishing and swimming to its surrounding residents and the general public at Baker’s Beach. Now the Daily Star reports it has been declared a “major inland lake” by New York State. What does this mean?
Gov. Andrew Cuomo signed a law last week approving the declaration, which allows local officials to apply for grants under the New York State Local Waterfront Revitalization Program….Providing an additional funding stream for improvements at Canadarago Lake
The bill designating Canadarago as a “major inland lake” was sponsored in the Senate by James Seward-R-Miford and in the Assembly by Bill Magee-D-Nelson.
