How many of you college students out there know how to cook a meal? Well, let me rephrase that: How many of you college students out there know how to cook a meal other than Ramen noodles and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches? According to a new survey, 11 percent of freshman in college say they don't know how to cook.

I guess, for me, cooking is like second nature. I feel I have always known how to cook--even without professional training or help. I just throw some stuff in a pan and the magic begins. Yes, yes, yes, I was in college before and know that the rooms do not have places to cook and the community kitchen is disgusting. But, being able to whip up a meal is a great ability to have--especially if you want to impress that special someone.

The survey, conducted by Sainsbury's, also finds that college freshman have never gone grocery shopping alone before (22 percent), done their own ironing (13 percent) and 25 percent of those polled have never been on a budget.

I'd like to get some input, here. College students out there--can you cook, can you shop by yourself, can you iron your own clothes? Fill me in.
