Meet 19-month-old Lexi Relyea of Camden. She was born six weeks early and was diagnosed with Sturge Weber Syndrome, a very rare genetic disorder. Lexi has a stain on her face and glaucoma in her eye. She had two surgeries before she was 6 months old to implant a drain in her eye to control the pressure.

Despite all her medical problems, Lexi had been doing fantastic developmentally and physically until recently. Monday October 20th, Lexi was taken to upstate hospital with seizures, a common occurrence with Sturge Weber Syndrome.  She'll now have to have brain surgery November 19th, where doctors will separate the two halves of her brain to help stop the seizures. After the surgery she'll be paralyzed, hopefully temporarily and will need intensive rehab in and out of the hospital.

Without insurance, Lexi's parents Amanda Spink and Matt Relyea are struggling with mounting medical bills so a donation page has been set up at GoFundMe.com for Lexi, to not only help with hospital bills, but medication costs as well.

It's hard enough for a parent to watch a child struggle, knowing there is nothing they can do but pray, let alone worry about medical expenses. We will join the family in praying for Lexi and a successful brain surgery. Please send up a prayer of your own and give what you can to help this Camden family.
