In case you didn't know, sledge hockey (or sled hockey) is just like regular hockey, except the players are on sleds. The game was invented at a rehabilitation center in Sweden by a few guys who had physical disabilities, but still wanted to play hockey. Now the game has caught on all across the world, and even became an official Paralympic sport in 1994.

The World Sledge Hockey Championship is happening now, and going on all week at Buffalo's new HARBORcenter Sports Complex. The championship kicked off Sunday (April 26), with four games. The US team won their game against Russia, 6 - 1. Norway, Canada, and Italy also won their games yesterday. US will play Germany tonight at 8pm.

The games run all this week, with the championship wrapping up Sunday, May 3rd.
