Brantley Gilbert first let us know about his adorable new fur baby last month, and in that time, he's learned a lot about Sylo -- including the fact that the American Bulldog pup is a little hard of hearing.

Gilbert has been proudly posting photos of his pup on Twitter and Facebook ever since he got him, and it seems the furball is quite the road companion for the 'Bottoms Up' singer.

But Sylo isn't perfect, although he may look it. The three-month-old dog is a little deaf, and Gilbert is going the extra mile to make sure his buddy gets the best quality of life possible. He's even hired a dog trainer that has taught him to use hand signals!

If Sylo is really good, Gilbert will give him a thumbs up -- followed by a tasty treat. What happens if you don't give Sylo the treat he knows he deserves? You don't want to find out!

“Just don’t give him a thumbs up without giving him enough food, ’cause he will bite the hell out ya," the singer shares (quote via Country Weekly).

Gilbert won't comment on why he chose the name Sylo, however, as he says it's a personal matter. “I can’t tell you that," he says when pushed to explain the name. "It’s just, yeah, it’s personal.”

The country singer is preparing to hit the road (with Sylo) on his Let It Ride Tour, with dates throughout the U.S. He's joined by Eric Paslay and Thomas Rhett as openers. In June, Gilbert will head to New York for the second-annual Taste of Country Music Festival -- he may even bring Sylo along for the ride!
