Brad Paisley as the Next American Idol Judge?

Are the rumors true?  Deadline.com is reporting, Brad Paisley is being considered to judge the next season of American Idol.  Mariah Carey just confirmed she's on board after Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler left.

It makes sense to get someone country.  It works for Blake Shelton and 'The Voice.'  And other than Trace Adkins and Blake, there probably isn't anyone in country music funnier.  His personality alone could land him the role.  Add in his song writing ability and his guitar talent and he's a shoe in.

Brad has ties to the Fox show.  He sang a duet with former Idol champ Carrie Underwood on 'Remind Me,' and they've co-hosted the CMA Awards for several years now. Last year's Idol winner Scotty McCreery is on tour with Brad this year too.

Only time will tell, but I'm excited and hope he gets the job.  It might make more country fans tune in to the show that has seen its popularity wane over the years.
