Another Boilermaker is in the books. Thousands of people took part this year. From the runners and volunteers to the cheering section lining the streets of Utica. Did we catch you along the course?

You'll see a little bit of everything every year at the Boilermaker - the first timers, the regulars, those waving their American pride, the inspirational stories, and even those running in costumes.

Those waving the red, white and blue, showing their American pride and honoring the men and women who fight for our freedom seemed to be out in full force this year.

Then there's those who run in costume. From the Blues Brothers', who make an appearance each year to Superheroes and tutus.

The weather was picture perfect with temperatures starting in the 50s, which is better than a week before when central New York was under an excessive heat advisory. But runners still needed to cool off along the course.

You'll see inspiration everywhere you look at the Boilermaker. There's the wheelchair racers who amaze me every year with their strength, mentally and physically. There's also the father and son who run together.

There's probably also a few runners who ask themselves at least once along the way 'why did I do this, again?'
