Blake Shelton’s Team Down to Three on ‘The Voice;’ Liz Davis & Julio Castillo Sent Home
'The Voice' live playoffs are over and the results are in. Each team of five was narrowed down to three to make the Top 12. The 2 from each team with the highest viewer votes moved on. Then it was up to the coaches to make the difficult decision on which one would move on as well.
Rocker Terry McDermott and pop singer Cassadee Pope were America's favorites on Blake Shelton's team, leaving mariachi singer Julio Castillo, country girl Liz Davis and punk teen Makayla Paige. Blake went with his heart and choose Makayla to move into the Top 12 rather than his country girl. Good choice Blake! His top 3 are the best of the best on his team, giving Blake a real good chance to have a Voice winner again this season.
Amanda Brown, who had the best performance Monday night with 'Dream On,' sailed through to the Top 12 with soulful singer Bryan Keith. Adam was left with Loren Allred, Joselyn Rivera and Melanie Martinez. Not surprisingly, he went with originality and picked Melanie to move on.
Christina Aguilera had the only surprise of the night. Sylvia Yacoub and cutie Dez Duron were America's favorites leaving De'borah, Devyn and Adriana. I thought Christina would also go with originality and pick De'borah to move on. Instead, she choose Adriana Louise. I don't think anyone on her team is a potential winner. They are all good singers, but to win, you have to be great.
Team Cee Lo
Cee Lo Green may have this years winner on his team. American fell in love with soulful teen Trevin Hunte and Nicholas David who both have a shot at winning. Cee Lo chose to go with the most improved on his team, sending Cody Belew to the next round. MacKenzie Bourg and Diego Val were sent home.
The Top 12 will sing for America's vote Monday when 'The Voice' returns on NBC at 8.
