One quality of a true hero is his or her ability to overcome adversity. By that measure, Brendon Morrocco of Staten Island is highly qualified. Morrocco lost both arms and both legs as a result of a roadside bomb in Iraq but his indomitable spirit has paid off as he has become the first soldier to receive a double arm transplant. His amazing story has prompted a country superstar to reach out to him.
Blake has the well earned reputation of being a fun loving, devil may care rascal but he also has a heart as big as all Oklahoma. If there was ever a doubt about that this should lay it to rest. As for Brendon, his incredible spirit should serve as an inspiration to us all. Check out this AP video of Brendon and his doctors.
