Blake Shelton has been on the road much of this summer, playing festivals and his own headlining shows as well as surprising fans at girlfriend Gwen Stefani's concerts. So how does the singer prepare before he takes the stage? To some, it is not much of a surprise.

“My pre-show rituals are ... haven’t changed in 15 years, except what it is," he told fans recently on Facebook. "I like to have a drink or two before I go onstage because I like to be relaxed. I like to feel like I'm on the same level as that crowd out there. They came here to have a good time and I want to be having a good time when I get out onstage."

Shelton says he often has vodka before he goes onstage to loosen him up and likes to listen to a wide range of music, depending on his mood that evening. The music he plays before his gig can include anything from the Bellamy Brothers to Guns N' Roses and AC/DC.

The singer will join his friend Luke Bryan's 2017 Crash My Playa event in Riviera Maya, Mexico, and the two will likely take part in some pre-show rituals together. The third annual all-inclusive concert vacation will take place Jan. 19-22.

“One thing Luke and I both know how to do is bring a good time,” Shelton says in a press release. “I’m excited to join him in bringing some country music to the beaches of Mexico.”
