Beverly Hillbillies Anniversary
One of the funniest sitcoms in TV history debuted on this day in 1962 on CBS TV. The Beverly Hillbillies hit the airwaves for the very first time, with veteran actor Buddy Ebsen starring as Jedd Clampett, a hillbilly who struck it rich in oil…”Texas Tea” as the opening song went. The program remained on the air at CBS for nine seasons until 1971.
Here’s a video clip of that great show.
