Beer and Fruit-A Good Combination?

Call me old fashioned but when I order a beer I want a beer. It used to be a pretty simple process as there were only a few well known brands to choose from but now with the increasing number of craft and specialty beers it’s gotten complicated. What’s worse–just sayin’–is the advent of “fruity” beers. Would any hardworking construction worker or farm hand really walk into a bar and order a “Samuel Smith’s Organic Raspberry”? Our local Saranac brand has joined the parade of “fruit” beer providers.
Saranac Blueberry Blond Ale is, according to the Saranac website, “a tradtional blonde ale with a kick of juicy blueberry.” As it is a seasonal brew you’ll only be able to enjoy it for a limited time but there are a number of other “fruity” ales you can choose from later in the year.
