Remember all those stories last year about bedbugs infesting high end hotels and office buildings in New York and other cities across the country? Well apparently the little critters enjoy  academic environments just as much as the big city.

Hamilton College Residential Life Director Travis Hill said his campus has had three cases – two last semester and one last month – since the start of this academic year.Hamilton’s not alone.

Utica College has had two instances this academic year, and Herkimer County Community College has had three cases since the 2008-09 school year, officials said.

Officials at SUNYIT and HCCC report no incidents of bedbugs this year. They don't spread disease but can be annoying as they do bite and cause itching. By the way, if you missed my musical ode to the the lowly bedbug called "Bedbugs" this morning here it is...Enjoy??
