Sometimes the deal of a lifetime could very well be the birth of a baby. One father in Alaska found this out the hard way.

Canyen Christopher Haas became one of Alaska's first babies of 2015 at exactly 10 minutes past midnight. His birth isn't what's making headlines, it's how the soon-to-be parents arrived the hospital. According to ADN, Canyen's father decided to make a trip to Bass Pro Shops first before the hospital:

Haas' mother, Shana, said she noticed the first contractions at about 4 p.m. New Year's Eve. Instead of going to the hospital, the parents decided to go to Bass Pro Shops to wait until the contractions got closer together. After an hour of walking around, the unborn boy had been "hooked up with lots of camo onesies" by his grandmother, according to his father."

Now let's just say Mom wasn't as exciting to head to the store:

"I was kind of in denial, like 'This isn’t really happening,'" Shana said."

Let this be a lesson to all men: take your wife to the hospital first.
