Well, we all knew this was coming. Whether or not you followed the 2012 Olympics, or merely tuned in to see the Spice Girls’ glorious reunion, chances are you’ve heard the name Ryan Lochte floating about. Not only has the Olympic gold-medal winning swimmer set his sights on the reality TV circuit, now it seems like he’s paddling his way toward scripted television as well. And what groundbreaking drama has the media sensation going for the gold? Why, The CW’s reboot of ‘90210,’ of course! Joy.
Sad news to report today, as former ‘Welcome Back, Kotter’ star and noted acting teacher Ron Palillo died this morning of a heart attack, at the age of 63. Palillo was reportedly found by his lifelong partner Joseph Gramm early this morning in their Beach Gardens home, before being taken to the hospital and pronounced dead. The news was reported by one of Palillo’s close personal friends.
Now, there isn’t necessarily a correlation between those tuning into the 2012 Olympics, and those who watch reality TV, but it’s no secret that the more public attention one attracts the more likely people are going to try every means of capitalizing on their fame. Gold Medal-winning swimmer (and admitted pool-peer) Ryan Lochte has certainly attracted his fair share of attention outside of his athletic prowess, so might the Olympian next take on the world of reality TV?
When enough stars leave a series, you’d think it might be time to throw in the towel. ‘The Office‘ doesn’t seem to be able to take the hint, but now ‘Grey’s Anatomy‘ is about to amputate its arguably most well-received leading man. No, don’t worry, Patrick Dempsey will still be around, but Seattle Grace Hospital is about to lose some serious steam when Eric Dane leaves the series for ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 9. But will his exit be addressed?
Sure, there’s plenty of great summer TV to keep us occupied for the next few months, but you didn’t expect us to sit back and ignore our favorite major network shows, did you? Just as NBC recently announced their fall schedule (moving ‘Community‘ back, boo!), so too has FOX unveiled their own listings. Have their been any major upsets?
What year is this? If Ashton Kutcher returns to hosting duties for MTV’s hit prank show ‘Punk’d,’ does that mean ‘The Matrix’ sequels have come out? Did President Gore implement his global warming solutions? Are we still waiting for Guns ‘N’ Roses to release their masterpiece “Chinese Democracy?” Well, if MTV ever takes a break from showing wall-to-wall music videos, we’ve got good news for Ashton Kutcher fans!
Going on near of a twelve-year run, last night saw the culmination of the latest off-shoot ‘Survivor: One World,’ one of the first that saw both tribes living at the same campsite from the very beginning. So who took home the big bucks? Your answer inside…
It’s been a solid two years since ‘LOST‘ finally ended its historic run with the divisive, yet aptly-titled “The End,” but the rumor mill hasn’t stopped churning with ideas and possibilities for a way to continue the Island stories so richly chronicled on ABC. After all, with many of ‘LOST’s mysteries still unresolved, even by the supposed “epilogue” included on the DVD, isn’t a return trip due?
