After the tongue-in-cheek feel of their single ‘You Lie,’ the Band Perry are calling their most recent single, ‘All Your Life,’ a “bona fide love song,” according to their Republic Nashville label. Referring to ‘You Lie’ as a “cheatin’ song,” Reid Perry says, “Naturally, in country music after a cheatin’ song you release a love song. And ‘All Your Life’ is our tribute.” The Perrys have seen firsthand the effect their love song has on crowds.
Nielsen and Billboard have released their 2011 Music Industry Report, and the findings are quite encouraging, especially for country music fans. Carrie Underwood may get to flit around onstage in shimmering gowns and attend swanky awards shows, but this Oklahoma girl who found her start on ‘American Idol‘ is certainly not one to forget her roots. In the early fall of 2010, Tim McGraw submitted his final version of a new record called ‘Emotional Traffic’ to Curb Records. Then, just hours after a court ruled this week (Nov. 30) that McGraw was free to sign with another label, Curb let the second single, ‘Better Than I Used to Be,’ hit the airwaves almost a year after the first single was released — and now they’ve announced a release date for the full album.
The holidays are a time of bustling around, hectic planning and the addition of last minute touches. Apparently the same is true for even the most spectacular events of the season.
