AT&T Hero Donald Moore Joins New York State Police

It was on May 27, 2010 that an angry customer, Abraham Dicken, walked into the AT&T location in New York Mills and started shooting. Several employees had been hit by gunfire when off duty Rome Police officer Donald Moore drew his revolver, shot and killed Dicken before the gunman could cause more harm. Moore was hailed as a hero for his actions and now he will continue his law enforcement career as a member of the New York State Police.
The Utica Observer -Dispatch reported that Moore recently graduated from the State Police Academy and will assigned to Troop D in Oneida.
Five other local men also graduated: Barry Bartle of West Winfield and Jason Woinoski of Oneonta, assigned to Troop C in Sidney; Edward Fall III of Clark Mills, assigned to Troop D in Oneida; and Jonathan Blazek of New Hartford and Eric Stefanik of Verona, assigned to Troop F in Middletown.
We wish Trooper Moore the best of luck in his career.
