It's the second career gold medal for Remsen Native Erin Hamlin.  The 30-year-old luger has won the women's sprint world title on Friday in Austria.

The 2004 Remsen High School graduate beat the defending champion, Switzerland's Martina Kocher to capture the gold.

Hamlin won her first gold in 2009 at the World Luge Championships in Lake Placid.  In 2014, she took the bronze at the Sochi Winter Olympics.

Erin Hamlin currently lives in Lake Placid, and her parents still live in Remsen.
