American’s Still Not Taking All Their Vacation Time
We all look forward to our vacation time, a time to relax , travel and get away from the pressures and demands of the workplace. However according to StarPress.com American workers are not taking all of the vacation time they are entitled to. A recent study showed that 57% of American workers still have unused time at the end of the year as opposed to 26% of Europeans. The reasons are varied.
One obvious reason is the economy. Many families just have the money to take vacation trips. There are work related reasons too.
Roughly a third said they stayed put because of their workload, and 19% noted that they didn’t want to deal with a backlog of tasks upon their return.
Bottom line is try to take all the time that is due to you even if it’s just to sit on the porch or relax in the backyard. You’ll be that much more productive when you return to work refreshed and rejuvenated.
