2005 was the year Noah Galloway lost his left arm and leg in a road side bomb in Afghanistan. It was the year that change his life. Galloway went from being an American soldier to drinking away his sorrow. But after accepting his situation, he focused on being a better father and a better man. Galloway's journey brought everyone to tears on 'Dancing With the Stars.'

To commemorate the most memorable year Galloway showed his vulnerable side with a contemporary dance to Toby Keith's 'American Soldier,' that most couldn't do with all four limbs. He proved what a true American hero looks like. "Everyone should get on their feet and applaud you," head judge Len Goodman told Galloway after his dance drew a standing ovation.

Galloway's memorable moment even caught the attention of former dancing star Amy Purdy and the man behind the song he danced to.
