American Idol Judges Send First Finalist Home [VIDEO]

American Idol is down to 12 contestants after the judges sent home the first finalist of the season.  America's vote put Elise Testone and Jeremy Rosado in the bottom two, leaving Jennifer Lopez the task of somewhat reluctantly revealing the judges decision.

Jeremy's rendition of Stevie Wonder's 'Ribbons in the Sky' just didn't match the competition this week.  He was in the bottom 3 guys with Jermiane Jones and Joshua Ledet.  Erika Van Pelt and Shannon Magrane joined Elise in the bottom three girls.  But it was Jeremy who ended up leaving.

Last year's runner up Lauren Alaina returned to the Idol stage to sing her latest song 'Georgia Peaches.'

Idol returns next week on Fox Wednesday night at 8.
