If you've travelled on I-90 through our state's capital, you may have caught a glimpse of the giant dog on top of a building in the downtown area.  The landmark is Nipper, the RCA mascot, and it sits atop the Arnoff Moving Company building on Broadway in Albany, and according to Roadside America.com, has for the past 58 years.

Most of us have seen Nipper's picture on the old painting called His Master's Voice.  The Jack Russell Terrier is sitting next to a phonograph with his head tilted.  That image became the symbol of the Victor Talking Machine Company, later RCA.

Nipper is 28 feet tall and made of fiberglass.  The Times Union has reported that the Nipper building will soon be converted into apartments.   They tell us that the developer plans to keep the giant pup on top of the building.
