Garth Brooks is excited to return to Albany for the first time in 20 years, a place he says feels like home.

Brooks has come a long way since opening for Kenny Rogers at the Utica Aud, a concert he remembers fondly. "It was a lot of fun. Nobody in their right mind would have gave a cowboy from Oklahoma any kind of stage time in the Northeast. Kenny was so sweet to us and took us places that would have never let us in."

There's been lots of changes since Brooks retired to raise his girls 18 years ago. He says the business has change for sure but also the technology. "Now people come and it's phones, phones, phones and you have to find a way to incorporate that into the show. Hopefully people are taking home memories that'll last a lifetime."

You guys are just like us. You get out of Manhattan and it's just farms and blue collar people like I was raised. Our accents may not be the same but we're the exact same people and it's like coming home

You can make your own memories when Brooks comes to Albany March 11th, near the end of his tour. "We've been fortunate on this tour. We're ready to go as long as people want to go. I'm excited for a chance to get to play again in Albany. It's going to be a hell of a finish."

But where does Garth find the energy for 2 shows a night.? "It comes from the people," he says. "It's my job to pick them up and you find energy you didn't know you had. It goes from a concert to party and the quicker that happens the more fun it is."

Brooks enjoys throwing a party in New York because he says it reminds him of his home in Oklahoma. "You guys are just like us. You get out of Manhattan and it's just farms and blue collar people like I was raised. Our accents may not be the same but we're the exact same people and it's like coming home."

Garth and Trisha are celebrating the holidays with a new song 'Ugly Christmas Sweater,' and are asking fans to send in pictures. So we joined in the fun to give away tickets to the March 11th Albany show. "That's fantastic," says Garth. "I can't wait. Please make sure you post them because I want to see them all."
