If you've ever been to the Adirondack park during the winter, you know how beautiful the scenery is, but add in some old-school pond hockey and you have one amazing weekend!

Adirondack Ice Bowl 2017 dates are set, teams are registered and the puck drops January 27 at 8 a.m.

The Adirondack Ice Bowl is a weekend-long pond hockey tournament played on Fourth Lake in Inlet, NY.

The tournament is broken down into two divisions; the Open Division(ages 21+) and the Masters Division(ages 40+) on four rinks built right on Fourth Lake.

Each team is made up of four players with two alternates. The Adirondack Ice Bowl games are played with NO goalie.

That doesn't make it any easier though.

Instead, they use custom goals that are 4 feet wide by 2 feet deep and 6 inches high, but with two 1-foot openings at each end.

Games are 30 minutes long(two 15 minute halves) with a two minute intermission and each team is guaranteed to play 3 games with the possibility of more of they make the playoff round.

Spectators are not only welcome, but encouraged to come out and watch! After all, what good is winning a hockey game without people there to see it?

If you're heading out to watch, you can stop and warm up in the Adirondack Ice Bowl 'shanty,' or head over to the Ice Bar for a few adult beverages.

You can also watch the games from the warmth and comfort of the Wood's Inn dining room.

The Pavilion has TV's cold beer and food specials, and will host each night's live music acts including Last Left, Dueling Pianos and Showtime.
