It's amazing the people you meet while on vacation. Tim Garber of Canton, Ohio is not only a Buckeyes fan, he's a sand castle connoisseur and provided our daily entertainment while Tad and I spent a week at the beach in North Carolina.

Tim would head out bright and early to begin his sand creation for the day. His family would follow him down a little at a time, sometimes pitching in on the daily castle or just enjoying the sun and surf. Everyone else enjoyed seeing what Tim would build each day; from Sandy the dog and the sun tanning snowman to the elaborate castle, complete with draw bridge and moat.

Although all sand creations were amazingly crafted, one topped the rest; the Big Frog logo. Tim and his son spent most of the last day turning the beach into our radio station. He even drew the logo on a paper plate for reference.

From his handiwork, you'd think Tim was an engineer or an architect. He's actually a retired millwright and has been building sand castles at the beach since his kids were young. This year Tim celebrated his birthday with his children and grandchildren.

Sometimes the people you meet on vacation you forget once you get home. Tim and his family left such a lasting impression we're thinking about finding out when they're heading to the beach next year so we can go at the same time.

Who have you met on vacation?
