We don't often think of Niagara Falls as a New York Sate Park, but it is. If you've never been, get ready for the power and sheer energy of the falls to take your breath away. I recall visiting Niagara Falls when I was a kid, and later with our kids. The American and Horseshoe Falls are truly wonders of the world!

Here's more about Niagara Falls State Park according to nysparks.com:

"Recreational opportunities at the region's 17 parks abound for visitors of all ages and interests.

The gem of the Niagara Region, Niagara Fall State Park, created in 1885 is the oldest state park in the country, and surrounds the mighty Niagara Falls. Numerous islands make up the park as well as the popular Prospect Point area.

The Visitor Center features information kiosks and the Niagara Adventure Theater features the film Niagara: Legends of Adventure. Just outside the visitor center is the stunning Great Lakes Garden, a living map of flowers and seasonal plantings, shows the entire Great Lakes watershed. The world famous Maid of the Mist boat ride brings visitors right into the Falls while the Cave of the Winds excursion brings you under the Falls within feet of the mighty roar."
