It's good for you one day and bad for you the next. Coffee. Like eggs, coffee has its documented pros and cons when it comes to peoples' health. Now, a study suggests that coffee is good for you--particularly your brain.

How did they come to the conclusion that coffee can protect your mind as you age? Scientists analyzed over 1,400 people's coffee drinking habits when they were in their 50s. And, the research concluded that those who drank moderate amounts of coffee--that's three to five cups a day--were 60 to 70 percent less likely to develop dementia or Alzheimer's disease when they got into their 70s.

Dr. Miia Kivipelto, a researcher from the University of Kuopio, Finland, said "The results might have important implications for the prevention of or delaying the onset of dementia/Alzheimer's disease."

What are your thoughts on coffee? Do you feel it has healing or therapeutic properties?
