If you're one who appreciates quality beer, you've probably already discovered a number of fine craft-brewed Octoberfest brews, with Saranac at the top of the list. But, I discovered another great Octoberfest lager that you may want to try.

The Ellicottville Brewing Company is a craft brewer located in western New York. I recall being introduced to them years ago when one of our kids was attending SUNY Fredonia out there is snow country. Their Oktoberfest beer is somewhat different than most, in that it's not a dark beer, nor is it overly "malty" or "hoppy", but a nice balance in between.

Here's a brief description according to ellicottvillebrewery.com:

"Every year at the EBC we brew this beer for our fall festival and the reaction of the public is much the same as it was back in the day. We use only the freshest German Hallatauer hops and Munich malts to produce this Royal brew."

Prosit!
