A Great Gift Idea – A Local Christmas Tree Ornament
If you’re looking for an unusual gift with an historic connection to the Utica-Rome area, consider a Christmas Tree ornament from the Landmarks Society Of Greater Utica.

For the past decade or so, the Landmarks Society has offered tree ornaments in the design of local landmarks. The 2012 ornament is of the Daniel D. Tompkins Chapel, located on the campus of the Masonic Care Community in Utica. The price is $23 plus tax and can be purchased in a number of local stores or online. For more information, call 315-732-7376 or e-mail: infor@uticalandmarks.org.
Here’s more information about the holiday ornaments from the Landmarks Society’s website:
“It takes 17 pairs of hands from start to finish to carefully craft each of the 24kt gold finished, photo chemically etched ornaments, featuring screened colors and advanced assembly techniques which add dimension. The ornaments are designed and manufactured in the USA by the same company that makes the ornaments for the White House!
Introduced in 2000, these elegant, superbly crafted holiday ornaments celebrating local landmarks have become sought after collector’s items. Quantities are limited, and when we run out, we retire the design.”
