A Burning Hot Dog Question

With Major League Baseball playoffs in full swing, the hot dog is being consumed at those ballparks of the competing teams, as well as at home. And seeing that on this day in 1844, Henry John Heinz, founder of Heinz Ketchup and its “57 varieties” was born, the burning question is this: What do you put on a hot dog, ketchup or mustard?

As for me, I’m strictly a mustard guy – sometimes yellow and sometimes brown – but always mustard and maybe a heap of sweet pickle relish, even chili if it’s available. But I know people in my family who put ketchup on their dogs. I suppose purists may eat the frank plain, but what fun is that?

So, it’s baseball and hot dogs, a classic American combo, with ketchup, mustard or both!
