You could soon be enjoying a beer with your book at the New Hartford Barnes & Noble. The company is applying for a license to sell beer and wine at the store on Commercial Drive.

The New Hartford Town Board was notified of the plan at their meeting Wednesday and unanimously approved the idea, according to WIBX.

Keven Danow, a New York City-based attorney tells the Utica OD, the New Hartford location is a "test-case for the company to try-out selling beer and wine from the stores' cafés."

Barnes & Noble's declining sales could be blamed on today's technology and more people ordering books online or downloading to their device. Will beer and wine sales boost book buys?
