Matt & Polly Wogg in the Morning Minimize

Matt Herkimer

I'm the last of the original Frog squad having been here doing morning since 1988 (With the exception of the first year when I did the 3-7 shift). The reasons I've stayed so (too) long? I love the area, I love country music, I appreciate my beloved co-workers and no one else will hire me.

My favorite movies are "Casablanca", "Citizen Kane" and anything with the Marx Brothers. Musically I'm all over the board but I do harbor a soft spot for late 80's-early 90's country as in Rosanne Cash, Dwight Yoakam, Mavericks, Kathy Mattea, Rodney Crowell and Mary Chapin Carpenter.

In my spare time I like to golf, hit the antique stores ( I collect old magazines), work out at the gym, watch classic movies and eat ice cream. I also do a lot of bird-watching but it sounds like a geeky thing to do so I won't mention it.

My goals include staying at the Frog til they drag me out kicking and screaming, see my daughter marry well and live to see (and utilize) the first effective hair-regrowth treatment.

My radio career began in Watertown NY at Froggy 97. From there it was a trip across country from a Froggy station in Ohio and another in Kentucky. I tried being normal at a station in Arizona but I've always been a frog at heart. I was born a loooong time ago in Gananoque Ontario Canada. I've called the US my home since 1995.

In my spare time I love to play golf, when it's not snowing or Texas Hold Em poker. I'm a reality freak. I TIVO everything from Idol to Big Brother.

As far as country music goes, I'm a junkie. I love Keith Urban and Sugarland and enjoy anything with a great message.

George Strait finds it hard to believe he's been named ACM's Artist of the Decade.  He's honored to be in such elite company which includes Marty Robbins, Loretta Lynn, Alabama & Garth Brooks.  The 2 hour TV special to honor George is on CBS at 8 tonight and is being called one of the best events in country music.  Stars like Brooks & Dunn, Sugarland, Taylor Swift and Kieth Urban all are taking part.

Keith Urban is ready with his new video for Kiss A Girl.  The animated clip made it's debut on iTunes yesterday.  You can check it out at Kieth's website keithurban.net and CMT next week.

Montgomery Gentry are set to become members of the Grand Ole Opry.  Charlie Daniels invited the guys to become the latest members on June 23rd.  Both Eddie & Troy were stunned by the announcement and Eddie was literally moved to tears.

Mike Tyson's 4 year old daughter Exodus has died.  She accidentally strangled herself when she got tangled in a cord from an exercise machine.  Her 7 year old brother found her.  Tyson was not home at the time of the accident but was by her side at the hospital when she passed away.

Could AT&T have manipulated the outcome of this year's American Idol competition?  That's what supporters of Adam Lambert want to find out.  The New York Times reports the phone company provided cell phones at 2 viewing parties organized by fans of Kris Allen so they could send free text message votes.
