Matt & Polly Wogg in the Morning Minimize

Matt Herkimer

I'm the last of the original Frog squad having been here doing morning since 1988 (With the exception of the first year when I did the 3-7 shift). The reasons I've stayed so (too) long? I love the area, I love country music, I appreciate my beloved co-workers and no one else will hire me.

My favorite movies are "Casablanca", "Citizen Kane" and anything with the Marx Brothers. Musically I'm all over the board but I do harbor a soft spot for late 80's-early 90's country as in Rosanne Cash, Dwight Yoakam, Mavericks, Kathy Mattea, Rodney Crowell and Mary Chapin Carpenter.

In my spare time I like to golf, hit the antique stores ( I collect old magazines), work out at the gym, watch classic movies and eat ice cream. I also do a lot of bird-watching but it sounds like a geeky thing to do so I won't mention it.

My goals include staying at the Frog til they drag me out kicking and screaming, see my daughter marry well and live to see (and utilize) the first effective hair-regrowth treatment.

My radio career began in Watertown NY at Froggy 97. From there it was a trip across country from a Froggy station in Ohio and another in Kentucky. I tried being normal at a station in Arizona but I've always been a frog at heart. I was born a loooong time ago in Gananoque Ontario Canada. I've called the US my home since 1995.

In my spare time I love to play golf, when it's not snowing or Texas Hold Em poker. I'm a reality freak. I TIVO everything from Idol to Big Brother.

As far as country music goes, I'm a junkie. I love Keith Urban and Sugarland and enjoy anything with a great message.

DON'T VOTE!!!  That's the message in a new PSA aimed to get young people out to the polls.  The all star spot has everyone from Leonardo DiCaprio, Tom Cruise, Julia Roberts and Steven Speilberg.  Check it out HERE.

Congrats to Pauline Brownell of Little Falls.  She got Star Struck this morning and won tix to see Keith Anderson at Turning Stone Nov 8th.  Tomorrow is the last day to get Star Struck.  Tune in at 7:10 to win.

The people have spoken...George Strait as President.   A new CMT poll has the king of country as the next US leader.  Reba came in 2nd followed by Trace Adkins and Alan Jackson tied at #3.  Kenny Chesney came in, in 4th and Carrie Underwood rounds out the Top 5

Alan Jackson will get his CMT Giants tribute tonight.  George Strait, Brad Paisley, Taylor Swift, Dierks Bentley, Lee Ann Womack and Miranda Lambert are among those on board for the special being taped at Nashville's Ryman Auditorium tonight.  CMT Giants will air on CMT Dec 6th.

Got Milk?!  Taylor Swift is the new Got Milk campaign girl sporting a milk mustache.  Is there anything this girl isn't doing?  And all this at the tender age of 18.

We talked homemade Halloween costumes this morning.  A few ideas....Cover yourself with a clear plastic garbage bag, fill it with different colored balloons marked with a "M" and got as a bag of M&M's.....Wrap yourself in tin foil and go as leftovers......wear a green shirt and attach X-mas ornaments, go as a Christmas tree.....Paint your head red and go as a candy apple.....put on dark glasses and write venetian across your chest and go as venetian blinds.....pin empty smarty boxes to your pants and go as smarty pants.....use the Hi My Name is stickers, write different names on each one and go as an identity crisis.....wear a box of cereal around your neck, tape plastic knives to yourself and go as a cereal killer.

With Halloween only 1 day away we ran down the scariest movies of all time.  Topping the list was of course Halloween followed by The Exorcist, Psycho, The Shining and Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

Joaquin Phoenix, announced his intention to bring an end to his film career and dedicate his time to music."I want to take this opportunity... also to give you the exclusive and just talk a little bit about the fact that this will be my last performance as an actor... I'm not doing films anymore." The latest film of Phoenix, is "Two Lovers," a romantic drama starring him and Gwyneth Paltrow.

Rumors are Guy Ritchie turned down a $40 million divorce settlement offer from Madonna.  Maybe when everything is settled he could be introduced to Heather Mills.

Word is tension on "The View" since Elizabeth and Joy are barely speaking, is so bad, Barbara Walters is porbably going to have to pick one or the other.  Since there's also work Hasselbeck is getting the most death threats than any of the other hosts...the writting seems to be on the wall.

Update on the Jennifer Hudson tragedy.....The murders may have involved 2 people.  Police have found the gun used in the shootings.  They also have video of someone else parking the suspects car a block from the murder.

It's the 25th anniversary of Michael Jackson's Thriller video...Want to see it again...click HERE.
