9 Things You May Not Know About FrogFest Stars Montgomery Gentry

Montgomery Gentry is ready for Wild West FrogFest and Rodeo on July 23rd at the Utica-Rome Speedway. We caught up with Eddie Montgomery for a round of speed questions. Here's what we managed to get out of him.

QUESTION: One thing you take with you on a deserted island?

ANSWER: I’m gonna have to say that’s gonna be my wife.

QUESTION: What’s the number one song played on your iPhone right now?

ANSWER: Gosh man, I got a couple on that. That’s hard cause it all depends on what mood I’m in. I could be in a Keith Whitley mood or Merle Haggard mood. I could be in an Ozzy Osbourne mood. It all depends on how many beers and how many shots. The more the shots, you never can tell.

QUESTION: So if we opened your fridge on the bus, what would we find?

ANSWER: Well, you’re gonna find Jim Bean. There’ll be some Diet Dew. You know, I got regular stuff for people that don’t want to partake in adult beverages. I’ve got bottled water but you might have to wipe the dust off the water. And I always keep bologna sandwiches in there.

QUESTION: Where’s your favorite place to play?

ANSWER: Let me tell you, anywhere. If there’s an empty stage and they’ll let us get on it, that’s my favorite place to play ‘cause I tell you what, when I’m on stage, there is no better place in the world.

QUESTION: What’s Troy’s most annoying habit?

ANSWER: It’s so funny because when we were riding the bus all the time before we started taking our families and stuff out, I’m messy as hell. He is a really organized kind of a neat-freak dude. So I used to drive him nuts on the bus all the time.

QUESTION: What's your favorite song to perform?

ANSWER: That’s a hard one to pick because it’s kinda like asking a parent’ “which one’s your favorite kid?”

QUESTION: So if your life were a movie, what would be the title?

ANSWER: I don’t know and I’m not too sure you could say that on radio.

QUESTION: What your biggest pet peeve?

ANSWER: I don’t really have one. I reckon making sure you live life to the fullest cause it’s very, very short and I’m gonna live every second of it. You know, anytime that you think that somethin’s bad, you can look around man and go, “you know, my life ain’t that bad because there’s always somebody out there that might not have it quite as good as you and you need to be smiling and praying to the good lord that helps you everyday.”

QUESTION: Final one, describe your perfect day.

ANSWER: I’m probably gonna be playing some music and I’m probably gonna be drinking a few adult beverages, but it’s on a golf course or in a honkey tonk, or I’m listening to somebody else getting on a stage, pouring out their soul.
