9-Ball Tournament Continues Through Weekend At Turning Stone
I remember shooting pool as a kid growing up in Utica, New York, and 9-ball was one of the games we played. If you’re into pool, Turning Stone Resort and Casino is the setting for a 9-Ball tournament now through the weekend.

Here are details from our sister station, WIBX:
“More than one hundred and twenty players will be competing in the Joss Northeast 9-Ball Tour’s Turning Stone Classic XX from January 10 through 13, 2013.
This week’s event is officially sanctioned by the Billiard Congress of America, and marks the twentieth such event for the Turning Stone. More than forty thousand dollars in prize money is up for grabs.
This year’s competitors include the current U.S. Open 9-Ball Champion Shane Van Boening and Turning Stone Classic’s Mike “Fireball” Dechaine. Germany’s Thorsten Hohmann, Ireland’s Karen Corr, and Filipinos Warren Kiamco and Ronnie Alcano will also compete.
The public can watch the event for free on the following days and times:
- Thursday, January 10 from 4:00pm to 1:00am
- Friday, January 11 from 10:00am to 1:00am
- Saturday, January 12 from 10:00am to 1:00am
- Sunday, January 13 from 11:00am to 10:00pm”
