According to Google Maps, Redfield, New York is just 32 miles northwest of Rome. But, the small town sits in the heart of "lake-effect alley."  According to newyorkupstate.com, more than six feet of snow has fallen in Redfield since last Wednesday.

Oswego County actually declared a state of emergency on Friday because the lake effect snow was falling at the rate of several inches per hour.  And as of Sunday morning, even more snow was expected in the town of 550 people.

One weather observer who lives in Redfield told the website that so far this season, 288 inches of the white stuff has fallen on the town.  With a few more weeks left in winter, I'm sure the town's residents have much more shoveling to look forward to.
