Several Madison County farms will be opening their doors to the public this Saturday.  Cornell Cooperative Extension of Madison County is hosting their 8th annual Open Farm Day from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

38 places will be offering tours, demonstrations, animal displays and product tasting.  CCE offers some tips on making the most of the day.

1. Check out the farms: You can get detailed information on all farms that are participating including their location by downloading the free passport.

2. Pick a lunch location: Many farms will be offering lunch, pick the location that excites your appetite the most.

3. Plan your route: Some farms have planned specific demonstrations at set times.  Find the one's you want and plan your trip around it.

4. Bring a friend: There are activities for adults and children of all ages wso plan to make an entire day of it.  Farms are open for visitors from 10am to 4pm.

5. Pack a cooler: Pack a cooler because many farms will be offering fresh products for sale including raw milk, cheese and vegetable.
