What had been suspected has now been confirmed by the FDA. “5-Hour Energy”, a very popular highly caffeinated drink has been linked to 13 deaths. The New York Times reported the agencies findings and said the FDA is considering ways to inform the public about the adverse effects but, as yet, has set no timetable. In response to the report Living Essentials, the parent company of “5-Hour Energy” issued this statement.
“Living Essentials takes reports of any potential adverse event tied to our products very seriously. We fully comply with all of our reporting requirements.” The company was “unaware of any deaths proven to have been caused by the consumption of 5-hour Energy.”
Just to be on the safe side I’d suggest you ask your doctor before consuming this or any energy drink.
