We don't ever want to hear you complaining that there's nothing to do in Central New York on the weekend. Here's a handful of fun events that are happening right next door.

The Weekend's almost here and you're wondering how you're going to spend your Saturday and Sunday. Maybe you've got friends visiting from out of town, or perhaps you're just looking for some adventure with your family. Either way, we've got you covered.

It's Maple Weekend

Maple syrup is just one of the reasons we love New York. Not to sound sappy, but we're not kidding when we say we could eat it everyday; breakfast, lunch, and dinner.  Each spring, 160 farms throughout the state invite you to witness the maple syrup production process, and taste the finished product. Critz Farms in Cazenovia  even offers a pancake breakfast for their guests. For a list of places featuring all things maple, click HERE.

Old Forge St. Patricks Day Parade

For some belated St. Patty's Day fun, head to the Adirondacks for Upstate New York's only Friday night parade. Old Forge's event kicks off on Main Street at 5pm, and it's one of the most unique parade's that you'll ever see. According to Lake George.com the parade features:

synchronized snowplows, wacky grocery cart maneuvers, and imaginative floats, you’re sure to have a wildly good time.

After the parade, slip in to Slicker'sTavern for one of the best fish fry's in the state. Their clam chowder is some of the best we've ever tasted, and the French Dip sandwich is amazing.

Central New York Home and Garden Show

If you have a green thumb, there's no better way to welcome in spring. The Home and Garden Show features everything you need for the outdoors: Lawn mowers, plants, garden tools, flowers, patio furniture, porch swings, and the list goes on. They've got the interior of your house covered as well: Bathroom amenities, furniture to upgrade your living room, and fixtures, and materials to remodel your bedroom. Central New York's Home and Garden Show will be showcasing everything but the kitchen sink. Wait...they've got those too. For more information, visit their Facebook page.

Kidabaloo

This Sunday, it's fun for you and your little ones. The event features bounce houses from Gary Spaven, a DJ spinning tunes, CNY's Bubble Ball Extreme, and a horse from Reindance Stables.  Disney Star, Corey Fogelmanis, AKA, "Farkle" from Disney's "Girl Meets World" will be there to sign autographs too. It's supposed to be chilly on Sunday, but there's no need to worry, because the event is held indoors at the Accelerate Sports Complex in Whitesboro. For details and tickets click HERE.

Easter Egg Hunt

Every time we hear about an Easter egg hunt, we can't help but recall some of our childhood egg hunt memories. Fortunately, we can live vicariously through our children this weekend in New Hartford. First Presbyterian Church at 105 Genesee Street  will be holding their event on Saturday at 10am. They will also have arts and crafts, story time, and refreshments too.
