49ers’ Quarterback Alex Smith Leaving San Francisco
Even though the 2013 NFL season is seven months away, there’s news about Alex Smith, quarterback from the San Francisco 49ers.

According to aol.sportingnews.com:
“The Kansas City Chiefs have acquired Alex Smith to be their next quarterback, multiple media outlets reported. Although the deal can’t be made official until March 12, it means that Smith, whom the 49ers couldn’t afford to keep as a backup to third-year sensation Colin Kaepernick, will return to a starting role.
The Chiefs had to act fast to please the 49ers because other QB-needy teams such as the Arizona Cardinals were also interesting in trading for Smith.
For the 49ers, they no longer will need to give Smith $8.5 million to sit behind Kaepernick. As they had hoped, they also will get something in return for the player they drafted first overall in 2005.”
