3 American Idols Take on Country [Videos]
March 10, 2011 7:33 AM The top 13 had to choose songs from their idols on American Idol. And 3 turned to country. Fan favorite Scotty McCreery and the two 16 year old girls, Laura Alaina and Haley Reinhart added some country flavor to the show last night with music from Garth, LeAnn Rimes and Shania. 16 year old Laura Alaina kicked off the show with Shania Twain’s “Any Man of Mine.”
Little Haley Reinhart looked up to LeAnn Rimes as a child and did a great job with her first hit “Blue.”
Scotty McCreery, the Josh Turner sound a like is a fan of Garth Brooks. He picked “The River”
Scotty is the fan favorite. A new poll asked viewers who they think will win, and Scotty topped the list. So it’s probably safe to say he won’t be going home tonight.
3 other Idols won’t be heading home tonight. Casey Abrams channeled Joe Cocker for “A Little Help From My Friends.” Pia Toscano somehow topped her stellar performance from last week with Celine Dion’s “All By Myself,” and James Durbin put his rocker spin on Paul McCartney’s “Maybe I’m Amazed.”
1 will be sent home tonight . Who do you think it’ll be? My vote is for Ashton Jones who made it through with the judges wild card pick last week. If she didn’t get enough votes last week to stick around, I don’t think her performance last night changed anything. Find out tonight at 8 on FOX or tune in tomorrow morning.
