Do you recognize 2 men seen stealing American Flags from homes in Rome, one a combat veteran?

Cari Maciewicz just wanted the flags returned with an apology. The flags are back but not because the thieves had a change of heart.

A Rome police found Maciewicz flag along with several others. "They were dumped in a driveway on Colonel Drive and thankfully someone was kind enough to report it," she says.

Maciewicz held out an olive branch, writing on Facebook “To the two white male young adults that stole my American flag and my neighbor’s flag last Sunday morning June 18th at 1:38 a.m. on Oakwood Street. Yes I know the exact time because I have it on video. You have 24 hours to come forward to return my flag so I can properly dispose of it. Please apologize to my neighbor, whom happens to be a combat veteran, before I go to the police and file a report and make the video public. This is your last chance for you come forward.”

That ship has sailed. Maciewicz  was willing forgive and forget. “I know everyone makes mistakes and poor decisions but I gave them a chance and they blew it. "My neighbors and I are very upset the flags were just dumped in a driveway instead of being returned properly. If your flag is missing, call Rome PD. They may have it."

Kirstin Safrin didn't have her flag taken but had one appear in her yard on Colonel Drive. "It was very odd," she says. "We had one placed in our yard last week and it was moved into our fountain. What the heck is wrong with these kids?"
